Clarence Schools Sustainable Initiative

  • The Clarence Schools Sustainable Initiative is an effort between MacKillop College, Clarence City Council, and Sustainable Living Tasmania to work with all 25 schools in Clarence
to fully implement their $50,000 from the Fed Govt’s Natl Sustainable
Schools Program. We are showing that schools can work together to achieve sustainability improvements. It is in effect a Climate Action group operating on the education level.

  • We are an email-list based group, but we have occasional on site meetings when we need to view a particular installation.

  • 25 schools, of which 12 are active. We are expanding our efforts to support the entire Catholic sector as well as the public schools are getting more support directly from the State Govt; as well as the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI), Sustainable Living Tasmania, Clarence City Council, and the Tasmanian Centre for Global Learning.
